FULL BIOGRAPHY

Jared Barnes is a musician, composer, and Music educator based in north central Iowa.  As a performer, he has performed with a wide range of ensembles as a pianist, percussionist, and vocalist.  He has also served as guest conductor and clinician for several concert bands, and as conductor for numerous musical productions.

Mr. Barnes' compositions and songs have been performed in recital and concert settings by musicians of all skill levels and ages.  His instrumental works have enjoyed performances throughout the United States and around the world, including performances at honor bands and festivals, as well as the prestigious Midwest Clinic in Chicago.  His music has also appeared on the Stanton's Signature Selection, J.W. Pepper Editors' Choice, and Bandworld Top 100 lists, as well as in Teaching Music through Performance in Band.

As an educator, Mr. Barnes has had the pleasure of working with band students ranging from fifth through twelfth grade.  His bands have regularly received Division I, superior ratings at state contests.  Under his direction, the Newman High School and Northwood-Kensett High School concert bands were selected to perform at the Iowa Bandmasters Convention as the Class 1A Honor Band in 2011 and 2019, respectively.  Mr. Barnes remains active as a Music educator in north central Iowa.
